Hikari Sentai Maskman

The Maskmen are a team of elite martial artists trained under Commander Sugata Sanjuurou. Through discipline, meditation, and combat training, they learn to harness Aura Power, a spiritual energy that gives them the strength to defend the surface world from the Underground Empire Tube.

Tube begins its invasion by sending Princess Ial to the surface under the alias Mio. While gathering information, she meets Takeru and falls in love with him, creating a forbidden bond between the underground royal family and a warrior of the surface world.

When Ial's true identity is discovered, Tube captures her and imprisons her in ice as punishment for loving a human. Driven by his love for Ial and his duty to protect Earth, Takeru becomes Red Mask and leads the Maskman team into battle against Tube.

As the war escalates, the Maskmen face Tube's Earth Empire Beasts, ninja warriors, commanders, and hidden royal conflicts. They also encounter X1 Mask, a prototype green warrior who represents one of the earliest additional Ranger concepts in Super Sentai history.

The team's fight ultimately exposes the truth behind Earth Emperor Zeba and the corrupted history of Tube, forcing the Maskmen to battle not only an invading empire but the dark secret at its very heart.
