Commander Sugata Sanjuurou is the founder and mentor of the Maskman team. A brilliant scientist and master martial artist, he developed the study of Aura Power and trained the Maskmen to draw that energy out through discipline, focus, and combat.

Operating from behind the scenes, Sugata provides the team with strategy, technology, and guidance during their war with the Underground Empire Tube. His training methods are demanding, but they prepare the Maskmen to face enemies who rely on both underground science and dark mystical power.
