Episode 11: "Dream Feast and Starting Anew"
[Continued from Episode 10]
The Goraijer attack the Hurricanger and the Gourajin seriously destroys the Senpujin. Kouta awakes in a hospital
to find his team mates Nanmi and Yuusuke in bed as well. They are struggling in their sleep. He goes to them and they turn
into Ikkou and Isshuu. They transform into the Goraijer and Kouta has no way out. Kouta is indeed having a nightmare. "Kouta! Wake up, Kouta!" calls Oboro,
shaking him by the shoulder. Mugensai is perched on her shoulder, watching worriedly. "They've been
unconscious for three days..." he frets. "But we don't have to worry because we're at this hospital.
They'll recover." On the opposite side of the room are the other two, Yousuke being attended by one of Oboro's
robots. Oboro tries each in turn, but they are unaware of her. "Oh, I can't bear to watch." Mugensai
worries that the Jakanja will find out what's happening, and start attacking again and wonders if the Shinobi Machines
will be ready. Oboro tells him the Auto-program is repairing the machines, but slowly. And
Mugensai addresses the mysteries like: who made Goraijer's Shinobi Machines in
Ikazuchi Way, and when? Oboro grumbles, "Even with the kids out of commission, mysteries keep popping up.
We just don't understand the precedent is yet." Mugensai will return to base to do more research, and asks
Oboro to keep an eye on the trio.
On the Centipede, Furabijou and Manmaruba are playing with a bubble-blowing toy while Tao Zanto asks
Chuzubo if he is ready. Chuzubo tells him he has a monster already on Earth. Wendinu adds a point that if he runs afoul of the Goraijer, they'll kill him. "Shut up already, I know!!"
Furabijou wonders where they are, anyway. She wants to welcome them into the fold.
Meanwhile, Ikkou dives his lithe body into a swimming pool and does some laps. He seems to be in the Ikazuchi headquarters.
Isshu is in the weightraining room, his eyes arecold. Ikkou rises from the water, it running in
rivulets down his chest. He sits in the lotus position on the water's surface, eyes closed as he
meditates.
At a house in the city, a mother wakes up a little girl named Rika. She misses her dog. Her mother asks her to walk the dog.
The dog Sherry comes out and she is happy it is alive. The girl is dreaming, her mother tries to wake her up and then
she notices her arms are turning to stone. The mother becomes frantic to wake her daughter up but to no resolve. Outside
the window, is the small gravestone for the dog Sherry on the yard. The one responsible, Yumebakushi laughs.
He waves his staff and colors wave around the city. At the hospital, Rika is rushed through the hall with other children.
Oboro opens her door and sees the ruckus. She sneaks in the conversation of ther doctor and the children. She figures
out that it is the Jakanja. Tao Zanto and Chuzubo talk about it in the Centipede. Sargain is actually impressed with Chuzubo's plan. Furabijou has her doubts,
as she blows her bubbles.
But back at base Mugensai hears his daughter's reports. He says to her, "I've secured permission
from the hospital. Start your investigation!" Oboru gets premission
from the hospital to hook the Hurricanger and the kids to a machine for the Hurricanger to enter their
dreams to save the day. "From this moment on, I'm sending you into the children's dreams,"
she tells them. They are not having happy dreams, after all. She has set up a machine in the middle of
the room. "I'm probably putting you in danger. You may never get out. I know you're injured, but...."
And she starts the machine going. "If this is a Jakanja attack, then you are the only ones who can
save the children. All right, go!" Green energy runs between the trio, then to the machine and then
through it to each of the children.
In Yuusuke's mind, we see flashes of his dreams or memories. He and the other two land in the empty city. A baby crriage comes up to them with the
cries of a baby but it is full of a cow's bones. Nanami wonders where she is as balls fall down stairs in reverse. Kouta
is bewildered by a reptile tail swinging by him and a clock running amock. Yumebakushi watches from a corner. He is
surprised by her prescence. Back at the Centipede, the Jakanja are surprised by their interference. Chuzubo takes this
as an opportunity to destroy them. In the dreamworld, Yuusuke disappears, then Nanami and then Kouta. Yuusuke ppears in a gold and red chair
and hears 'welcome' from Wendinu and Furabijou in Chinese dresses. He is ready to attack them but they tell them not
to worry about it as they give him food and drink. There is tables and tables of food before him. Nanami is taken to a place
with blue and yellow wall and sings to a huge crowd inb a green Kimono. She sees that Magerappa are
interspersed in the crowd, but no one is disturbed. "Wow! My song has brought peace to space, too!" A group of
Magerappa come on stage to sing backup. When she
finishes, the crowd goes wild with joy.
Kouta is dropped in a bright field with kids playing. He joins in with the kids. Outside, the Hurricanger are smiling and they
begin to turn to stone. Oboru hasn't given up on them. Kouta is dancing with the kids when he suddenly finds a
bunch of refridgerators in front of him. Puzzled, he comes over to see. A chubby boy opens one freezer and it is
chock full of ice cream. The child picks one out and goes back to playing. Kouta stares after him, dumbfounded.
He takes a few steps, thinking hard. "Why, is this a dream, then? But whose is it?" Ahead of him someone says,
"Sherry!" One little girl, off by herself and playing with a small, white dog. Kouta stares at her, puzzled.
"That's Rika-chan." Then he is even more puzzled. "How come I know her name? This must be a dream."
And in the waking world, the contented smile on his face becomes a troubled frown. Oboro notices this right away and comes to his bedside. Oboro says,
"Kouta, you're the only one different. All right! You do it, Kouta!!" Yousuke and Nanami have joined the laughing children.
They believe the fight is over and peace has come. Kouta sees Yumebakushi, who is playing with the kids. The kids leave
and Nanami and Yousuke dance with the monster. The stone effects reaches the victim's faces. Oboro tells Kouta to hurry up.
Kouta sits Rika down and tells her that her dog is dead and she doesn't want to believe. The other Hurricanger dance
with the kids around Yumebakushi. Rika runs to Yumebakushi. Kouta tries to convince her. "Rika, I hate facing hard facts. I'd like to only do things that are fun. But if I stay here, the REAL fight is not over!"
Yousuke and Nanami stop dancing. Kouta says he'll fight the Jakanja. He transforms into Hurricane Yellow.
He readies to fight Yumebakushi. He calls for the Goraijer. The Hurricanger remember back to when the Goraijer beat them up.
Kouta doesn't believe it. They fight him. Rika is scared. Kouta is pinned down. "This is a dream! Only an illusion!" Kouta cries. "I'm not going to be defeated by a dream!!" And then he grabs the Ikazuchi Maru pinning him and throws them up, then cuts into the Goraijer, knocking them back and down.
He goes back to Yumebaskushi and they fight. Kouta falls. Yousuke and Nanami run to him. They put their hands together.
The phantom Goraijer appear. The two transform and the three present themselves. Kouta says, "Asanjo!" They beat the Phantom
Goraijer and they disappear. As for RIka, she realizes it is a dream and Sherry turns to light. All the other kids
are shocked. Rika and the kids start crying. The Hurricanger comfort them. The place with the refrigerators changes and
so does where they are. It becomes a quarry. Kouta and Yumebaskushi fight and Kouta swings him up and down and around. He
tosses him away. The Hurricanger form the Quick Gadget and he blows up.
In the real world, he laughs and steams. The Jakanja in the Centipede are sad. Back in the hospital, the rocks
dissappear from the humans and they awake. The Hurricanger take off the head bands. Oboro smiles. The Hurricanger get up.
She tells them that she believed in them. Rika tosses her sheets off and gets up, calling excitedly for
her mother, and the anxious waiting parents hear their children's voices and rush inside to greet them joyfully.
The scroll is sent down and the monster becomes big and the earth shakes. The Hurricanger race out, when Oboro stops them,
pointing a tthe window to see Yumebaskushi's eyes. Nanami is wondering if they are dreaming again. Kouta asks for the
Shinobi Machines. Oboro tells them she will tell her father. They run out as the Hurricanger and Mugensai has
called the machines. They form Senpujin and fight Yumebaskushi. He sends fire around them. They want to call for the
Sword Slasher, but Mugensai has to tell them they can't use it yet, repairs aren't finished. So Yousuke says "Well,
we'll use Hurrier Mode!" "Um, you can't do that yet, either." "Well, what can we do?"
asks Yousuke. But Kouta knows. He calls in the Goat Crusher and Nanami calls in the Tortoise. They will attack with
the God Hammer. They throw it at Yumebaskushi and he falls. They do the finisher attack and destroy him. Oboro is very happy.
The real Goraijer watch from a building rooftop. The Goraijer are amused that
the Hurricanger survived and vow to make them sorry for returning.
Rika stands at Sherri's grave and prays, then talks to her puppy. "I'm sorry. I forgot about the real Sherry. It's
okay now. I'm going to school again. I promise." She has released her grief and will get on with her life.
The Hurricanger listen to her speech and leave, content.
